ANSI Z87.1 is a standard of many safety glasses including these ones, but what does itreally mean?Firstly, they're tested for high mass impacts and penetrations by dropping heavy and sharp spikes on the lenses from over 4 feet off the ground. They're also tested for exposure to flammables, corrosion, non-ionizing radiation and chemicals.

On top of that, these are Z87.1 Plus rated, meaning they pass all the aforementioned tests and are also rated for high velocity impacts as well, such as shrapnel. While this doesn't make them bulletproof, it can save your eyes in a lot of scenarios where your favorite pair ofMaui Jimsmay end up costing you your eyesight.
